At Shirley Robertson Children's Centre, we would like to acknowledge that we teach, learn and play on Wurundjeri land.
We are committed to embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories into our everyday learning. We will contribute to reconciliation by encouraging our children and families to acknowledge, respect and value the cultural histories, heritages and traditions of First Nations peoples.
Shirley Robertson’s Children's Centre acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the First Peoples of this nation and the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work and play.
We recognise their continuing connection to culture, land, water and community.
We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

Understanding, utilising and respecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander child-rearing practices strengthens culture and helps to foster a strong sense of belonging for children and families. Children have a special place within family and community.
